Wheeler And Bordwine Open Grants With Feature Wins

Grants, NM -- Former Duke City Raceway competitor Kenny Wheeler won the street stock main event ahead of John Baron and Cotton Gerald as the Uranium Capital Speedway opened it's 2004 season Saturday night. In the hobby stock class, Clyde Bordwine was the feature winner ahead of a pair of former Albuquerque racers Dan Harmon and Phil York. Buddy Allen beat Thomas Hunter in the thunder bomber action. The Duke City Raceway competitors were forced to find a new track to compete at after that facility and sold and closed as a racing venue this winter.
