Outlaw Karts Return To Redwood Acres In 2018
Eureka, CA (February 7, 2018) – Outlaw kart action is set to return to the North Coast at the Redwood Acres Fairgrounds. It will be the third straight year of outlaw kart racing at the facility.
The new season brings new faces at the promoting level for the 1/10-mile dirt track which sits inside of the historic 3/8-mile paved Redwood Acres Raceway oval. Promoting duties have now been assumed by a coalition of Acres racers who are focused on continuing what was originally initiated in 2016.
Outlaw kart racing has grown in popularity across the United States in the past 15 years. While outlaw karts have served as a place for young drivers to get their start in racing, it has also served as a place where family and friends get together to enjoy a day of competition and comradery. Prior to 2016, the nearest outlaw kart tracks in the region were in Red Bluff and Lakeport. Since the first race two years ago, interest and participation on the local level has continued to develop while several visitors from out of town have also taken to the track.
All five divisions will be returning including the Champagne Attorney Service beginner box stocks, the Williamson Financial box stocks, the Steve’s Septic Service 125cc/250cc karts, the 500cc/open karts and the Fortuna Wheel & Brake old fart karts. Six races are on the 2018 docket for the Humboldt Outlaw Karts Presented by Steve’s Septic Service and Wes Green Landscaping with the highlight event of the season occurring on April 21st.
