Super Six Late Models Return For Race Three Of 2018
Eureka, CA (June 4, 2018) – After a week off, racing returns this Saturday June 9th for Renner Petroleum Night at The Races. The usual divisions of roadrunners, Bandoleros, bombers, mini stocks and Legends will return to the track for the fourth race of the season. It will be the third race of 2018 for the Super Six Late Model Challenge Series cars as their most recent race was May 12th.
The Compass Community Credit Union roadrunner division point standings are led by Nick Ford. He has a sizable advantage of 37 points over second place, Patrick Sproul. Lindsey Zito is third with Dylan Ford fourth and Amanda Lohr fifth in her rookie season.
Redwood Acres Raceway’s newest division, the Bandoleros has seen some exciting action thus far in 2018. Aiden Kimberling has been steady thus far and holds the lead for the track championship. Kadence Mace is second but only two points behind Kimberling. Lane Anderson has two main event wins in 2018 and is third in the standings. Trey Daniels and Malessa Miles round out the top five.
Jim Redd is running away with the Fortuna Wheel & Brakes bomber division. Redd has avoided disaster so far in 2018 and has a comfortable 54-point lead over Nick Green and Sam Brown who are tied for second in the standings. Ryan Walters is tied with Wyatt Roach for fourth in points.
Chris Lawrence has used his experience to lead in the NorthCoast Lighting and Electric Legends division. He has one main event win this year and leads Tyler Peach by 18 points. Tyler Krupa was involved in an incident in the main event on May 27th but still is third in the standings. Brent Mack is fourth, a point behind Krupa and rookie driver Aiden Daniels is fifth.
The battle for the Humboldt Hydroponics mini stock track championship is likely to come down to the last lap of the last race of the season. Eugene Palmer has won twice this season but only has an advantage of five points over Brian Murrell, Sr. Trevor Eacret is further back, 24 points behind Palmer while Scott Taylor is a point behind Eacret. Gary Klientobe is fifth and he is also a single point behind Taylor.
The Mid-City Motor World Super Six Late Model Challenge Series has been dominated by Mic Moulton. The late model veteran has won both races in 2018. However, second place Dane Nissen is still within striking distance. Nissen is 11 points behind Moulton. David Henderson is third and will be one of the favorites on Saturday night. Things haven’t gone the way Marty Walsh has hoped in 2018 but he has plenty of time to make up his 21-point deficit. Tim Crenshaw is fifth in the standings, 31 markers behind Moulton.
